There are many opportunities to benefit from group travel and group travel can have many benefits.  A group can consist of different numbers depending on the type of travel and the specific supplier.

Cruise ships generally consider a group to be 8 cabins or more.  Some luxury cruises and some special offerings will be less.  Sometimes if your group comes up with a few less, you can still benefit from the group.

Escorted Tours will vary from as few as 6-8 to larger groups of 20 or more.  It is best to consult with your travel agent about where you would like to go and they can get that information for you.

One of the best opportunities for a Group is a Multi-generational vacation or a Family
Reunion.  This is one of the fastest growing segments of the travel industry and many of the travel suppliers have developed some exciting benefits for families to enjoy. This is especially fun if you have family members who live in multiple locations.  Instead of having to spend most of your vacation time going to see family or having to choose between visiting family or taking a vacation, all the family members can meet on a cruise ship or at a favorite resort.  That allows everyone time to be together while also allowing for the individual families to have vacation time as well.  You can spend as much or as little time together as you would enjoy.

If you are a member of a hobby group, you might want to go on a cruise together and enjoy your hobby and travel together with your group.  You do not have to spend all your time as a group.  You can schedule some meals together and do scrapbooking, winetasting etc. in a conference room a few times and spend the rest of the vacation with your family or other friends.

If you are needing Continuing Education classes for your profession, you might want to get a trainer and schedule a group cruise or resort vacation.  You could complete your CE credits while on the trip, but spend the rest of the time on vacation.
